Glycerin water pretreatment is designed to process the stream containing glycerin, water, and residual impurities generated during biodiesel production. At this stage, residual fats are removed in a fat separator, after which the stream is directed to a neutralization unit where alkali is added to adjust the chemical composition and create optimal conditions for subsequent methanol recovery and glycerin concentration. The integration of this process into a closed wastewater loop minimizes product losses and reduces freshwater consumption. After pretreatment, the glycerin-containing water is sent to the evaporation stage for further concentration and recovery of valuable components.
