In JJ-Lurgi technology, distillation is used to remove residual impurities such as monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, sterol glycosides, and other high-boiling components that can affect the stability and quality of biodiesel.
The distillation unit operates on the principle of vacuum rectification. Under the action of vacuum and controlled temperature, methyl esters are separated from heavy components and impurities. This results in highly purified biodiesel, while heavy fractions are removed from the process stream or sent for further processing.
