Pellet Mills for producing pellets from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste are industrial machines designed to process the biodegradable fraction of MSW into dense pellets. This feedstock includes food waste, paper, cardboard, plant residues, wood waste, and other organic materials separated during waste sorting. Pelleting reduces waste volume, stabilizes material properties, simplifies transport and storage, and produces a standardized product suitable for further use, such as alternative fuel or a component of organic fertilizers. Modern pellet mills are engineered for reliable operation with heterogeneous and moist feedstocks.
CPM Europe has developed a technological solution to eliminate issues associated with traditional pellet cutting methods during the production of pellets from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (MSW). Unlike standard knife-based systems, CPM Zenith uses specially designed crushing bars that ensure stable pellet formation.
The CPM Zenith technology enables the production of pellets with uniform and controlled length, which is critically important for the manufacturing of RDF/SRF alternative fuels and fuel pellets from the organic fraction of MSW.
The roller lubrication system uses closed-loop oil circulation to ensure continuous lubrication of the rollers. An oil-flow to each individual roller enables continuous monitoring and control of the roller bearing temperatures.
The closed system prevents contaminants from entering the rollers, whereas the filtered oil-flow removes potential wear particles from the bearings.
CPM’s lineator is a remote controlled roller adjustment system. The compact lineator ensures an operator-safe, precise and quick roller adjustment during pellet mill operation. The Lineator is reducing your operating cost by decreasing valuable production down-time. With the lineator, there is no need to stop the pelleting line for most roller adjustments and down-time is minimized at pellet mill inspections. The operator can easily and safely adjust the rollers via a control panel without opening the pellet mill door.
Twin Track uses two rollers and, uniquely, each roller has its own track. Our system pushes pellets with one long, energy-effi cient push per die revolution. This means less energy (in kWh/t) is needed to create the pellet with Twin Track than with 2 or 3-roller machines – which push 2 or 3 times per revolution. And with Twin Track, we’ve also increased the number of holes in each die by a massive 43%. This creates a wider layer of raw wood material, which in turn produces a greater number of pellets per revolution. Greater energy savings and greater capacity

is especially designed for applications with very hard pelleting conditions in terms of raw material quality, set-up space, norms, etc. The production of wood pellets is one of these applications. In fact, Direct Drive is
the first pellet mill designed for the biomass industry with direct drive system, without gearbox or V-belts. The new pellet mill performs a high efficiency thanks to its powerful torque motor, saving around 20% of energy, compared to the conventional drive systems.
